What is a land trust?
The Land Trust is a private, nonprofit, service organization, directed and managed by its members, whose purpose is to promote, for the benefit of the general public, the preservation of open space and natural resources, principally in, but not limited to, the Town of Winchester.
Why is this important?>
June 4 (Saturday), 10am, "Connecticut Trails Day Hike". Meet at the Winchester Center Green to hike the spectacular Ruez Trail. The path crosses clear streams, fields of ferns, and passes the "Great Rock" - an enormous glacial erratic boulder. All are welcome for this 1.5 mile hike with some hills, but no steep inclines
June 17 (Friday), 11am, Beardsley & Memorial Library. Join White Memorial Conservation Center’s Education Director Carrie Szwed as she guides you through the menagerie of animals we have right here in the northwest corner of CT. Families with children are welcome at this program.
